Welcome to Thames Karate International

Thames Karate is a Shotokan organization, which has been established since 1975. Our Chief Instructor and Grading Examiner is Sensei Ray Fuller (8th Dan) who was one of the first people to train with Sensei’s Kanazawa and Enoeda when they arrived in England in the 1960’s.

Thames is a democratic organization, which is run by its Black belts on behalf of all its members. There are regular Black Belt meetings where all issues regarding the organization are discussed and voted upon. Gradings are held on a regular basis at both at Club and Association levels and there are quarterly Black Belt Gradings.

We have a regular association newsletter, which is distributed to the club instructors and direct to our members via email and the web.
